SSAIB

The Security Systems & Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) is the leading certification body for organisations providing security systems & services, fire detection & alarm systems, telecare systems & services, manned security services & monitoring services.

Certification with SSAIB is a mark of excellence. Their approach is inclusive of small & larger providers alike & they have some 1,600 companies of all sizes on their register, which means that they represent the greatest number of security service providers in the sector.

SSAIB’s schemes comply with all Police policies (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland & the Irish Republic) & insurers – often as a condition of their underwriting – place particular demands on security & fire safety system providers. In the event of an incident, insurers will need to be satisfied that all reasonable precautions have been taken to mitigate risk.

The Security Industry Authority is the organisation responsible for regulating the private security industry.
They are an independent body reporting to the Home Secretary, under the terms of the Private Security Industry Act 2001. Their remit covers the United Kingdom.
